Someone get this troll some ointment, because he just got seriously burned.Twitter user @gary4205 picked a virtual fight on Monday with astrophysicist Dr Katherine J Mack after she tweeted her expert opinion on climate change. But it didnt end well for him, after the respected Australian scientist shut him down with a killer reply that many other tweeters endorsed, includingHarry Potterauthor J.K. Rowling. The existence of Twitter is forever validated by the following exchange. pic.twitter.com/f3TciHPFFh J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) August 16, 2016 The existence of Twitter is forever validated by the following exchange, the British writer posted alongside a screen grab of the exchange Tuesday. Its now going viral. The brief discussion between Mack and the troll began when the University of Melbourne-based astrophysicist posted this on the micro-blogging service:Honestly climate change scares the heck out of me and it makes me so sad to see what we’re losing because of it. Katie Mack (@AstroKatie) August 15, 2016 Honestly climate change scares the heck out of me and it makes me so sad to see what were losing because of it, she wrote.Obviously, she has a point.Among a range of effects, climate change is turning the water around us into a threat, shifting the patterns of fish populationsand causing great damage to Australias Great Barrier Reef.Even a weightlifter at the Rio 2016 Olympics is trying to highlight the issue. But @gary4205 ignored the scientific facts and wanted to make sure Mack knew exactly how he felt.@AstroKatie Maybe you should learn some actual SCIENCE then, and stop listening to the criminals pushing the #GlobalWarming SCAM! Gary P Jackson (RAT) (@gary4205) August 15, 2016 Maybe you should learn some actual SCIENCE then, and stop listening to the criminals pushing the #GlobalWarming SCAM! he aggressively replied. He clearly hadnt researched his target who definitely does know about actual science. And she replied with this absolute zinger:@gary4205 I dunno, man, I already went and got a PhD in astrophysics. Seems like more than that would be overkill at this point. Katie Mack (@AstroKatie) August 16, 2016 I dunno, man, I already went and got a PhD in astrophysics, she tweeted back. Seems like more than that would be overkill at this point.One-zero to the science community. The Twitter troll doesnt appear to have responded to Macks reply, but he has been subjected to wide ridicule. Here are some of the best posts on Macks response so far:@AstroKatie @gary4205 pic.twitter.com/3lkBaqa6Nv Stephen Williams (@WilliamsCodex) August 16, 2016 @AstroKatie @gary4205 pic.twitter.com/ndtyhmGHUs Mark (@rokku) August 16, 2016 @AstroKatie @gary4205 Take a bow lass, well played… pic.twitter.com/seT8Q9h4xD Will (@KelSaor) August 16, 2016 @AstroKatie @gary4205 pic.twitter.com/PN4x6GtIBH Letterman Thanks (@LettermanThanks) August 16, 2016 .@AstroKatie Holy shit, you alright after that @gary4205′ Michael Davis (@mostobviousname) August 16, 2016 @mostobviousname @AstroKatie @gary4205 I love this so, so much #scienceisjustawesome pic.twitter.com/cScQh9atC5 Nic Stark (@nicknack1981) August 16, 2016 @AstroKatie @gary4205 there is not enough cold in the heat death of the universe to treat this magnificent burn.
