Over the course of one glamorous week, New York Fashion Week featured over seventy-five runway shows. Sustainable fashion, couture, novelty bags, metallic fabrics, futuristic style, and sparkles were just some of the highlights from both up-and-coming and well-established labels.

Here are some of the best moments from New York Fashion Week before the fashion set jets off to London, Milan, and Paris for their respective fashion weeks: from the hippest after-show parties to the most jaw-dropping catwalk shows.

We Blondes

As is customary, David and Phillipe Blond (the Blonds) stole the show at the end of New York Fashion Week. This new line was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor’s life and jewellery fetish as well as classic Hollywood glamour. That was the inspiration, David Blond said of her beauty and elegance. She was a vision of 1960s chic; her beauty was dialled up to eleven. greater than life.

For Blond, the oversized gems and crystals in the runway show evoked images of Polly Pocket dresses, the gemstone emoji, and “Princess Peach Toadstool” from Super Mario Bros. “The new collection also makes allusions to My Fair Lady and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

The founder of the label, Chinese-American designer Wei Lin, founds his company in New York and takes his current collection’s name from the ocean. Coral-hued and sea-inspired, This is not a jellyfish features knit goods in forms inspired by ocean waves, amoeba, and other marine life. Lin wants people to realise the urgency of the issue of plastic waste in the sea. Lin explained that the use of plastic was a central theme throughout the entire collection. In order to style the collection, we enlisted the help of our friends and family members by asking them to donate any plastic they no longer needed.

Vice President Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, is a model and a fashion designer signed with IMG. She hosted a fashion show at Spring Studios with the theme “Ella Emhoff Likes to Knit,” where she debuted her newest collection of knitwear. It’s a line of knitwear with a modern, hipster vibe. Those with Peter Pan syndrome are the intended audience. For his own fashion, Emhoff “has been channelling a lot of his childhood style fantasies,” he says. It’s normal to cherish memories and experiences that bring you comfort.

At New York Fashion Week, Susanne Bartsch, a legend of the city’s nightlife, presented her collection, LOOK III, alongside the works of seven other designers at Runway 7. Abraham David Levy’s couture stole the show. He gave the runway a refined, futuristic feel with his streamlined, cutting-edge creations. Among the models who walked the runway for Levy were Miss Gay Texas USA Kylee O’Hara Fatale and Anetra, a contestant on season 15 of Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

The Incomparable Luis De Javier

The New York Fashion Week debut of the Spanish designer took place at the Angel Orensanz Foundation on the Lower East Side, with the legendary Julia Fox closing the show. In addition to Alton Mason and Georgia Palmer, Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon walked the runway, and the collection was largely comprised of latex, leather, jeans, and spikes (their distressed grey leather was printed onto vegan leather, in collaboration with Kornit).
